Miles Master at Clifton Airfield.

On the 20th of December 1942 this aircraft was sustained minor damage in a taxying accident at Clifton, this was also the day of the units move to Duxford and this was the squadrons communications aircraft. It is presumed that the aircraft was preparing to take off for the move.

The aircraft was built to contract B65589/40 by Phillips & Powys at South Marston and delivered to MU storage in December 1941. It was issued to 1 FTS at Netheravon in early 1942 and served with this unit until it disbanded on 7th March 1942. Later in the month it was issued to 5 FTS at Ternhill, 5 FTS was re-designated as 5 (P)AFU at Ternhill on 1st April 1942 and the unit was transferred to 169 Sqdn at Doncaster on an as yet unspecified date later in 1942. The aircraft moved with the unit to Weston Zoyland on 13th October 1942 and then moved back to Doncaster with the unit on 18th October 1942. The unit then moved to Clifton on 15th November 1942. It sustained Cat. A(c)/FA damage in the incident detailed above on 20th December 1942 and was repaired on site. After repairs were completed the aircraft was transferred to 57 OTU at Eshott in early 1943 where it served on communications duties until struck off charge on inspection on 30th March 1945.
