Halifax at East Moor airfield.
On the 5th of October 1942 this Halifax was reported damaged in a heavy landing at East Moor at 12.30hrs, it sustained
Cat B/FA damage and was later repaired. The damage was sustained on a non-opertaional flight. Information is currently limited.
Earlier in its life at 158 Sqdn it had been given the code "-A".
The aircraft was built to contract B982938/39 by E.E.C. Ltd. at Salmesbury and delivered direct to 158 Sqdn at East Moor in June
1942. It suffered it's Cat. B. accident at East Moor on 5th October 1942 and was repaired in works. After repair it was
issued to 77 Sqdn at Elvington in mid 1943. It was lost, Cat. E(m) on 22nd June 1943 on Ops to Krefeld. No trace was ever found of the seven
aircrew.
