Halifax at East Moor airfield.

On the 26th of August 1942 this Halifax suffered a heavy landing which broke the tail wheel unit, Cat A(c)/FA damaged was reported and the aircraft was soon repaired and back in service.

The aircraft was built to contract B982938/39 by E.E.C. Ltd at Salmesbury and delivered to an unspecified MU in December 1941. After acceptance it was issued to 10 Sqdn at Leeming in January 1942, it transferred to 158 Sqdn Con. Flt. at East Moor in June 1942 and suffered this Cat. A(c)/FA mishap there on 26th August 1942. It was repaired on site and after completion it was returned to 158 Sqdn in September 1942. It transferred to 1658 HCU at Riccall on 31st January 1943 and served with them until being struck off charge on 18th March 1944 as a worn out aircraft.
