Lysander at Clifton Airfield, York.

On the 24th of April 1942 this aircraft is listed as simply crashing at Clifton with Cat. A/FA damage being sustained, there were no casualties.

The aircraft was built to contract 23637/39 by Westland's at Yeovil and delivered to the RAF in January 1941. It was issued to 268 Sqdn at Bury St.Edmunds on an as yet unspecified date in early 1941. At some later date it transferred to HQ Army Co-Op Command Com Flight at White Waltham and remained with them until it suffered a Cat. A/FA accident at Clifton on 24th April 1942. It was deemed beyond repair on site therefore Re-Cat.B and taken to works here it was decided to convert the aircraft to TT status. On completion of the repair and conversion it was issued to A AGS at Pembrey on an unspecified date in 1942. It was eventually struck off charge on 13th Novemerb 1943 as a time expired airframe.
