Meteor near Filey.

On the 8th of November 1949 a Meteor believed to be on a training flight from RAF Driffield struck a 60,000 volt power line in the Filey area wiping out power to Filey, Scarborough and Bridlington. The aircraft did not crash and it is thought to have returned to Driffield airfield and made a good landing. No further details at present, the first I heard of this was from newspaper archives at Scarborough Library searching for other aircraft incidents.
