Wellington at East Moor.
The Wellington was returning from a mine laying trip and was based at RAF Dalton, where it had taken off at 22.07 hrs.
The pilot tried to land at
East Moor on its return but overshot the runway and crashed at 02.35 hrs. Four were killed in the crash.
