Gardan GY80 at Bagby.
The aircraft in question. My thanks to Jim Rudland for this picture.
On the 1st of November 2003 this aircraft was flying in the Thirsk area. For some reason the overhead door opened in mid flight and the pilot was unable to shut it. He then made a forced landing at Bagby Airstrip, he did not have time to make good his approach and on touching down the aircraft bounced before coming to a halt with a damaged propeller and nose wheel. The pilot was uninjured.
Pilot - Unknown, aged 50 years, ok.
