On the 10th of September 1918 this aircraft was force-landed near Whitby, the bottom wing and under carriage were badly
damaged but the pilot was unhurt, the aircraft was later repaired.
The aircraft was built by Airco for the RFC and transferred to the RNAS prior to 1st April 1918. (No RFC service details are known).
It was taken on charge by MAD South Shields and transferred to Tynemouth on 3rd September 1918 and moved to 510 Flt. 252 Sqdn
at Redcar shortly afterwards. Some serious confusion exists regarding this aircraft as records indicate that it was transferred
to 517 Flt at Seahouses on 12th September 1918 which is most unlikely as 527 Flt of 256 Sqdn were based there at the time.
It seems probable that as no further records exist of this aircraft it was dismantled on site, transported out by road, was not
repaired and disappeared to scrap.
Pilot - Unknown.
