On the 9th of June 1942 this aircraft was written following a crash / heavy landing at Thornaby Airfield. Damage sustained was severe enough for it to be beyond repair, Cat E/FA damage being given.

The aircraft was built by Lockheed-Vega at Burbank, California and purchased by the British Purchasing Commission without contract. It was delivered to the UK in August 1941. After acceptance at MU it was issued to 6 (C)OTU on an as yet unspecified date.
