On the 16th of October 1942 this aircraft crashed on landing at Thornaby after hydraulic failure. Cat B/FA damage was sustained. The aircraft was repaired and returned to service.

The aircraft was built by Lockheed-Vega at Burbank, California and purchased without contract by the B.P.C. and delivered to the UK by ship in July 1940. After acceptance at MU it was issued to PRU at Benson. It then had a stay at PDU before moving to 220 Sqdn at Thornaby on an as yet unspecified date in 1941. The aircraft passed into the hands of 6 (c)OTU in January 1942 when 220 Sqdn left Thornaby. Following the above mishap in Janaury 1942 it was repaired and the aircraft served with 10 OTU and finally the ATA as a crew transport. It was finally SOC on 28th May 1945.45.
