On the 20th of August 1941 this aircraft over on landing at Thornaby airfield and ran into a hedge. Cat A/FA damage was sustained.

The aircraft was built to contract 791587/38 by Lockheed at Burbank, California and was shipped to the UK arriving in July 1940. After acceptance it was delivered to 220 Sqdn before transferring to 6(C)OTU. After repair on site following the above incident it continued to serve until being transferred to 5 OTU, it eventually became an instructional airframe, 4466M in January 1944.
