Hudson at Thornaby Airfield.

On the 21st of August 1941 this aircraft suffered and an undercarriage collapse at the east end of the E-W runway at Thornaby airfield. No injuries were reported. Cat A/FA damage being reported.

The aircraft was built to contract 791587/38 by Kockheed at Burbank, California and after delivery to the UK in December 1939 it was issued to 206 Sqdn at Bircham Newton in March 1940. It moved onto 220 Sqdn at Thornaby on an unspecified date before finally transferring to 608 Sqdn in July 1941. After repair following the incident above it continued to serve with 608 Sqdn until being reported missing over the sea on 18th May 1942 when operating out of Wick.
