Hudson at Thornaby Airfield.

On the 14th of November 1941 this aircraft was damaged at Thornaby Airfield, Cat E2/FA damage being sustained. One airman was killed, three were injured. The aircraft is thought to have struck and air-raid shelter on airfield when attempting an emergency landing after the aircraft developed engine trouble in the circuit. The aircraft was built to contract 791586 by Lockheed-Vega at Burbak, California. After delivery to the UK in November 1939 and acceptance at MU it was issued to 206 Sqdn at Bircham Newton where it remained until being transferred to 6(C)OTU at an as yet unspecified date.
