Bristol Scout at Redcar.

On the 12th of June 1917 this aircraft damaged its undercarriage at Redcar in a rough landing. Cat R/FA damage being reported. The aircraft was possibly repaired although when surveyed on the 7th of December 1917 it was described as "wrecked". It was deleted on the 14th of December 1917.

The aircraft was built by Bristol at Filton and had been completed by the 10th of November 1916 but was awaiting an engine at Filton. It was delivered to RNAS Cranwell in February 1917 and was fitted with an overwing Lewis Gun there or previosuly at Filton prior to delivery. It was later transferred to RNAS Redcar "War Flight". This possibly being one of only afew aircraft serving with the "Home Defence Flight" being referred to as the "War Flight".
