Longhorn at Redcar.

On the 18th of July 1917 this aircraft crashed on landing at Redcar.

This aircraft had been involved in a fatal accident on the North Yorkshire Moors afew months prior to this mishap at Redcar. The details of which are here

The aircraft was built by Brush E.E. Co. Ltd at Loughborough and originally delivered from makers to CSD White City from where it was dispatched to RNAS Killingholme AAP for assembly, testing sand acceptance on the 17th of February 1917. It was later transferred up to RNAS Redcar on the 14th of March 1917 along with a number of other MF Longhorns to serve with the flying school there. Following the accident on the North Yorkshire Moor on the 15th of April 1917 it was rebuilt although no record exists of where or the time scale involved, it was returned to Redcar only to be written off in this mishap in mid July 1917. It was finally deleted from stock on the 8th of September 1917.
