Fury at Thornaby Airfield.

On the 6th of November 1936 this aircraft bounced on landing at Thornaby airfield, the aircraft overturned injuring the pilot. The Fury was later repaired, Cat R/FA damage being sustained on this occasion. The aircraft was later returned to service and damaged again on 8th February 1937 Cat R/FA, it was again repaired and eventually written off Cat W/FA on 12th June 1937. The wreck was recovered and taken to Aldergrove for assessment. It was finally struck off charge on 13th September 1937.

F/Sgt George H Hatch would later serve with 64 Sqdn, his aircraft is believed to have been shot down over Belgium on the 31st August 1940, he died some days later on the 26th of September 1940. He is buried at Enghien Cemetery, Belgium.
