A 106 Sqdn Fairey Battle.
On the 29th of June 1939
this aircraft was damaged during a force-landing near Thornaby airfield. The engine had failed,
and during the attempted landing the aircraft hit a hedge, the undercarriage collapsed.

The aircraft was built to contract 424738/35 by Fairley at Stockport and delivered to 63 Sqdn on 9th June 1937.
It was retunred to Fairey on 9th July 1938 for modifications. It was later issued to 88 Sqdn on 29th September 1938 and again
transferred to 106 Sqdn on 8th October 1938. Following this incident above it was written off having clocked up 575.40 total
flying hours.
