Avro 504 somewhere in North Yorkshire.

On the 23rd of February 1936 this aircraft was flying in fog when the pilot made a forced landing. The landed was made in a bog, the aircraft crashed and overturned. The location of this landing is not yet known but it is presumed to be in North Yorkshire and within reach of Thornaby.

The aircraft was built by A.V. Roe to contract 928312/29 and delivered to HAD on the 2nd November 1929. It was transferred to 608 Sqdn at an unknown date. The damage sufferedin this force landing was Cat W/FA, it was SOC on the 22nd of August 1936, repair was possibly considered as it took six months to strike it off charge.
