On the 4th of September 1942
this aircraft crashed just after take off from Thornaby and caught fire at Myton House Farm, Ingleby Barwick at 22.30 hrs.
The four crew were killed. Damage of Cat E2/burnt was stated and the aircraft written off.
The aircraft was built by Lockheed-Vega at Burbank, California and purchased without contract by the B.P.C. It was
delivered by ship to the UK, arriving in July 1941. After acceptance was issued to 6(c)OTU in late 1941.
