Warwick at Thornaby Airfield.

On the 8th of July 1945 this aircraft overran the runway on landing, again the pilot raised the undercarriage to stop it going down into the ravine beyond the overshoot area. Cat E2/FA damage was sustained.

The aircraft was ordered as a Mk II but built to contract ACFT/494 as a Mk I by Vickers Armstrongs Ltd at Weybridge. It was delivered to the RAF in mid 1944 and issued to 280 Sqdn at Langham on an as yet unkown date in 1945, it moved with the unit to Thornaby in January 1946.
