Bristol Scout at Redcar.

On the 17th of March 1917 this aircraft crashed on landing at Redcar on its delivery flight from RNAS Cranwell. The aircraft overturned and was badly damaged. The pilot is not thought to have been injured. The damage was severe enough for it to be written off with Cat W/FA damage, it was written off afew days later when the assessor was at Redcar on the 3rd of April 1917.

The aircraft was built by Bristol at Filton and delivered to CSD White City in September 1916. After sitting there for some time it was transferred to RNAS Cranwell for assembly, testing and acceptance on the 8th of December 1916. It was then transferred up to RNAS Redcar on 17th of March 1917.
