Caudron GIII at Redcar.

This aircraft was built by British Caudron Co Ltd based at Hendon, it was delivered to RNAS AAp, Hendon on the 17th of June 1916 and was tested and accepted on the 20th of June 1916. It was then dismantled and sent by rail to RNAS Redcar on the 12th of July 1916, it arrived at Redcar on the 15th of July and was re-assembled, tested and accepted there on the 3rd of August 1916. Twelve days later, on the 15th of August 1916 this aircraft overshot its landing and crashed into some cottages in Redcar, the two crew escaped without serious injury but the aircraft sustained damage of Cat W/FA, enough to declare it beyond repair, after asseessment it was deleted on the 28th of August 1916.
