On the 29th of June 1917 this aircraft was being flown from Cranwell up to Redcar when a problem developed, the pilot made a force-landing
near Ormesby. The aircraft sustained enough damage in the landing for it to be written off.
The aircraft was built by Brush E.E. Co. Ltd at Loughborough and delivered to RNAS Cranwell on the 8th of January 1916. The aircraft suffered damage
soon after as it was under repair during February 1917 although there is no complete record of the details as it why this repair was needed. It was
transferred to RNAS Redcar on the 29th of June 1917 sustained this Cat W/FA damage whilst in transit. The aircraft was deleted as
beyond economic repair on the 15th of September 1917. This also appears to be the pilots second mishap in the area in a month, having damaged a Bristol Scout at Redcar afew days previously (detailed on this website).

Although the pilot appears to have survived the War, it is possible that Flt Sub Lt Frauenfelder lost a brother in the Great War, B Frauenfelder was serving with the
18th Bn, Australian Infantry, A.I.F. when he was killed on 29 Sept 1917 and is buried in France, he was a native of Albury, New South Wales, Australia.
