On an unknown date, possibly the 21st of December 1916 Longhorn N5037 was taxiing when it collided
with Avro 504 3304 and Curtiss Jenny 3440 at Redcar. All aircraft sustained damage.
This Curtis JN4 was built by Curtiss in Toronto and shipped to the UK. It was delivered to AAP Hendon on 25th of April 1916,
fitted with dual controls, tested and accepted on the 1st of May 1916 and immediately flown to RNAS Flying School Chingford the
same day. It was transferred to RNAS Redcar on the 8th of September 1916. Following this Cat R ground accident in
December 1916 it was sent to Blackburn's in Leeds for repair (possibly flown to Leeds suggesting damage was minor). It returned
to Redcar on 26th December 1916. The aircraft later
suffered a Cat W/FA on the 6th of July 1917 and was deleted as beyond economic repair on the 8th of September 1917.
Pilot - Unknown (none?).
