On the 7th of January 1917 this aircraft was damaged in a flying accident at Redcar suffering Cat R/FA damage. No further details regarding this incident.

The aircraft was built by S.E. Saunders Ltd for the RFC from which it was transferred as a dual control trainer to the RNAS at RNAS Flying School Redcar on 11th May 1916. Following this accident in January 1917 it was repaired, returned to service before suffering another Cat R/FA accident on the 21st of July 1917 after which it was again repaired. It then suffered a more serious Cat W/FA accident in October 1917 and was deleted from stock on the 26th of January 1918 as beyond economic repair.
