On the 24th of May 1917 this aircraft was on a delivery flight from RNAS Redcar to RNAS Cranwell but was
forced to land at Crathorne for reasons unknown. It suffered Cat R/FA damage in the forced landing, after repair on site
it returned to Redcar the next day. It finally made the flight to Cranwell
on the 26th of May 1917.
The aircraft was built by Beardmore & Co at Dalmuir and delivered to RNAS Redcar on the 15th of September 1915.
It was transferred to RNAS Scarborough on the 8th of November 1915, and back to Redcar on the 11th
of November 1915. It again went back to Scarborough on the 8th of December 1915 before going north to RNAS Whitley Bay
on the 13th of December 1915. It returned to Redcar at some point during January 1916 and stayed there for some time
before being transferred to RNAS Cranwell when this accident occured. Once at Cranwell it suffered another mishap there on the
2nd of October 1917, this is thought to have been a Cat W/FA. It was not initially written off though as it was still on
charge at Cranwell when the RNAS folded and became the RAF on 1st of April 1918. Its ultimate fate is not yet known.
