Avro 504 at Redcar.

On the 23rd of January 1917 the undercarriage of this aircraft collapsed on landing at Redcar, damage was severe enough for it to be given Cat W/FA damage. It was deleted from stick some months later on the 4th of May 1917 suggesting that it may have been considered for repair although no record for this exists and it is though that it sat for some months before being deemed beyond economic repair. It was built by Brush E.E. Co. Ltd at Loughborough and delivered to RNAS Redcar on the 27th February 1916 where it was assembled, tested and accepted on 31th of March 1916.
