Avro 504 at Redcar.

On the 22nd of June 1916 this aircraft suffered an engine failure, the pilot attempted a force-landing at Redcar but ran into a ditch and damaged the aircraft. The pilot escaped without serious injury although the aircraft sustained major damage (Cat W/FA) and was written off as a result. The aircraft was built by Bruch EE Co Ltd and delivered to RNAS Whitley Bay on the 3rd of February 1916 for erection. It was test flown and accepted there on the 8th February 1916 and later transferred down the coast to RNAS Redcar on the 4th of March 1916. It was struck off charge following this crash and deleted from stock on the 4th of July 1916.

There may be an error with the name of the pilot of this aircraft, Raymond Collshaw is also listed as piloting Avro 504c 8595 the day after this accident and crashing that at Redcar also.
