Avro 504 at Redcar.

On the 8th of May 1916 the pilot of this aircraft was forced to make a landing at Redcar. The aircraft was completely wrecked as a result (Cat W/FA damage being sustained), It was deleted from stock on the 19th of May 1916. The aircraft had been made by Brush EE Co Ltd of Loughborough and delivered to RNAS Redcar on the 10th of December 1915 for testing. It was accepted there on the 16th of December 1915. It was to suffer two accidents in two days in April 1916, both detailed on this website and was repaired and returned to service prior to this accident.
