Hudson off Upgang Beach, Whitby.
On the 25th of March 1942 at either 10.45hrs or 10.55hrs a Hudson was ditched in the North Sea one mile off Upgang Beach, Whitby. The aircraft was on a training flight when both engines cut out.
The crew of four took to their dinghy and were picked up later by lifeboat a short time later.
There were no casualties reported, the aircraft was written off as Cat E.
