Dornier off Flamborough Head.
On the 24th of Sept 1942 a German aircraft was reported to have been brought down off Scarborough in ARP records.
On the same night a number of aircraft attacked York, without wishing to copy Mr Bill Norman's work on this loss, a Dornier was shot down by P/O Peake in a Beaufighter of 25 Sqdn, the aircraft was seen to crash into the sea. All four German airmen were believed killed although they were never found. The two reports are almost certainly the same aircraft.
