Hudson off Redcar.

On the 16th January 1941 the crew of this Hudson took off from Thornaby at 10.40hrs for a patrol. Some forty five minutes into the flight the aircraft suffered an engine failure and after loosing height the aircraft was ditched in the sea off Redcar, the area was though to have been in a minefield. Although a search was carried out no trace was found of the crew and they are commemerated on the Runnymede Memorial.
