P51b Mustang off Hayburn Wyke.

On the 11th of August 1944 the pilot of this aircraft was undertaking a training flight when the aircraft crashed into the sea off Hayburn Wyke, some seven miles north of Scarborough. Police records state that it came down around 09.45 hrs, dispite a search the body of the pilot was not found.
