Anson in the Stainmore area.

On the 8th of Fenruary 1942 the pilot of this aircraft was ferrying the aircraft from Sherburn in Elmet up to Kirkbride. At around 14.30hrs the aircraft flew into a hillside killing the pilot, the location given is Buckles Heath, South Stainmore

ATA Pilot - 1st Off William J Elliott, aged 24. Buried Altrincham.

I have yet to locate where the aircraft came down.
