On the 13th of December 1948 the Mosquito took off from its base at Leeming, Yorkshire for a cross-country navigation exercise. On their return to base from the South-West the crew encountered thick cloud, they flew off course slightly and flew into the hillside close to where the Halifax had crashed some five years previously, the Mosquito burst into flames and scattered wreckage over a wide area killing the two crew instantly.
Pilot - P/O (or P4) Anthony Guy Bulley RAF (3031532), aged 23, of Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire. Cremated St. Marylebone, East Finchley, London. He was born on 1st Nov 1925.
Nav - F/Lt Brian Orlando Bridgman RAF (165418), aged 24. Of Birkenhead, Cheshire. Buried Leeming Churchyard, Yorkshire (grave I 15).
