On the 24th of April 1942 this aircraft was returning from Ops to Rostock, having taken off from Dishforth at 20.43 on the 23rd they flew too far west and ran out of before they could find an airfield. The aircraft was force landed in a field near Hellifield at 07.01hrs. Oddly only four airmen are listed in W Chorley's losses book, the usual number being five airmen.
