G-AVRS which crashed at Moorsholme.
The aircraft crashed into a hedge at Throstle Nest Farm near Moorsholme on the 12th of September 1999 after the aircraft floated
on landing and overshot. The pilot was ok.
12.09.99. Gardan GY80-180 Horizon G-AVRS. Have no idea who the registered owner was at the time of the accident or where the a/c was based.
The aircraft was built by Sud Aviation in France and was first registered in the UK to Air Touring Services Ltd at Biggin Hill on 14th July 1967
though the aircraft did not
get it's C of A until 23rd September that year. The registration lapsed on 5th January 1968. The aircraft was purchased by
Norfolk & Norwich Aero Club Ltd at
Swanton Morley and registered to them on 27th February 1968 and they retained the registration until 8th March 1969. The aircraft passed
on to Rogers Aviation
Ltd at Cranfield on 17th March 1969 but only stayed with them until 25th June that year. The aircraft was purchased and registered
to Kenneth James LeFevre at
Norwich on 14th July 1969 and remained registered to him until 2nd February 1971 The next owners were Air Gregory Ltd at Denham who
took up the
registration on 12th February 1971 but they only kept it until 14th May 1971. The aircraft was next purchased by David Edward Young
and Kenneth Warner at
Iver, Buckinghamshire and registered to them on 23rd June 1971. The registration was cancelled on 4th September 1972.
Horizon Flyers Ltd at Ruislip
were the next owners, taking up the registration on 15th January 1973 and
retaining it until 15th August 1974. The aircraft passed to Kenneth Frederick Plummer of Milton Keynes on 22nd August 1974 and remained
with him until
22nd September 1975. The aircraft was up for sale for 3 months before being purchased by Rogers Autos Ltd of Slough who took the
registration on 5th January 1976 who kept it until 13th October 1981. It passed on to Horizon Flyers Ltd (Group B) at Iver Heath on 4th
November 1981. Here its owners are lost in time and are yet to be researched.
The aircraft was possibly owned by Air Ventures Ltd of Harrogate at the time of its accident at Moorholme, after which it was repaired
as it's present owner is Mr Nigel Mark Robbins of Oswestry who took the registration on 19th April 2006. It is believed to be still flying.

The crash site has not yet been located or visited but is thought to be on land owned by Throstle Nest Farm.
